Summary:
Green house gas levels pre and post industrialization are compared using ice core samples. The increase of green house gases is very prominent in all samples. This rate of increase has not been seen in over 10 000 years according to TAR. The exert also states many of the changes that have occurred due to climate change.
Critical Thinking:
1) Given that projections of global climate change are not certain, should we act now? If not, how long should we wait?
Based on the precautionary principle, the amount of evidence supporting the evidence that humans effect the climate, action should be taken now. The longer action is put off, the more extensive, and expensive working to repair it will be.
