Blog Number 2: A Sand County Almanac

Summary:

This reading is a summary of Aldo Leopold's land ethic.  It discusses how he came do realize the importance of all environmental relationships, such as how humans are impacting those relationships, as well as the idea that the concept of land ethic is constantly evolving.

Critical Thinking:

1) The importance of the statement "thinking like a mountain" is the need of humans to change their values of what is important only to them, to a more sustainable vision of, what will allow all humans to utilize that resource in the future as well.  This change in ethics involves understanding that to maintain the heath of the ecosystem, the land must not be over taxed, and the relationship of predator and prey must be respected.
